Import Source

The Import Source section allows you to bring external data into the platform to enrich your contact database, enhance targeting, and improve attribution accuracy. You can upload CSV files or use data from your integrated pixel.

๐Ÿ“ Source Types

You can choose from the following source types during import:

1. Website Pixel

  • Pulls data collected via the installed tracking pixel.

  • Automatically captures user behavior like:

    • Page views

    • Product views

    • Sign-ups

    • Purchases

  • Pixel data is continuously updated and requires no manual upload.

  • Can be used to build real-time segments and behavior-based audiences.

2. Customer Conversion (CSV)

  • Upload a list of users who completed key actions such as:

    • Purchases

    • Subscriptions

    • Trial sign-ups

  • Ideal for building high-intent seed audiences and creating lookalikes.

  • Used in the Builder section for analyzing profitable user journeys.

3. Failed Leads (CSV)

  • Upload users who did not convert or dropped off at specific funnel stages:

    • Abandoned carts

    • Incomplete registrations

    • Demo requests with no follow-up

  • Useful for retargeting campaigns, win-back workflows, and loss analysis.

4. Interests (CSV)

  • Import a contact list enriched with interest or intent data, such as:

    • Product categories browsed

    • Declared preferences

    • Survey results

  • Helps build personalized segments and power Smart Audiences with intent-based logic.

๐Ÿงพ CSV File Requirements

  • File must be in .csv format with a valid header row.

  • At least one identifier is required: email, phone, or user_id.

  • Use UTF-8 encoding for best compatibility.

  • Avoid blank rows or duplicate entries.

๐Ÿ”„ What Happens After Import?

  • The system attempts to match contacts against tracked users or known profiles.

  • If matched, anonymous visitors are resolved into named contacts.

  • These contacts become usable in:

    • Lookalike creation

    • Analytics dashboards

    • Ad platform syncing

    • Funnel analysis

โœ… Best Practices

  • Always select the correct source type to ensure accurate classification and processing.

  • For customer conversions and failed leads, include a timestamp or status column.

  • Use Interest uploads to boost personalization and Smart Audience effectiveness.

  • Review match results after import to ensure data quality.

๐Ÿ›ก Compliance Reminder

Only upload data for users who have provided valid consent for marketing and tracking, especially under regulations like GDPR and CCPA.
